Kristin Simmons
Owner and Head Baker Kristin Simmons, is a wife, mother, and home chef. Kristin F. Simmons was started as a way to bring together all of the passions in her life.
Kristin was trained as a chef first by her father, who had been trained as a Cook for a Boy's Summer Camp.
Over the past 14 years, Simmons has worked in her home state of Maryland as a baker and pastry chef and has travelled world-wide, living in both Puebla and DF in Mexico, as well as in Florence Italy studying linguistics, art, and culinary traditions. She and her family settled in Maine in 2003, opening their own business in 2008.
She writes as a columnist for Seacoast newspapers and chronicles the food scene of Southern Maine. Simmons is firmly rooted in the belief that “food is better when you know where its coming from. Food is the great connector, bringing together all walks of life and personalities.”
Kristin was recently featured for the second year at Maine’s Harvest on the Harbor, and demonstrated her cakes at a premier event with Maine’s James Beard culinary Award Winners. She was a top five finalist at the Maine Restaurant Week, 2011 Art of Dessert Competition and recently won the 2011 Maine Christmas Prelude Cookie Contest. Her company uses local dairy and all natural and organic products in their cakes.
Simmons states ”The real point is to be around the table with people you love and to illicit conversation and laughter with the food you make.”
She has also taught classes at Adult Education of the Kennebunks, and assisted at Stonewall Kitchen's cooking school. Today she shares her passion with her 2 daughters, her "little chefs" and her husband. They reside on the Coast of Maine.

Mark Simmons and the girls Mark runs the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. He is the lead sculptor on our handmade decorations.
Mark was trained as a craftsman and brings his expertise to cake construction and sculptural details.

made my wedding cake, and for some of you, a cake is just a cake. But
for me, cakes mean a lot more. I've been baking since I was eight years
old, and - for my wedding - any old cake wouldn't do. The problem was
that I had never made a wedding cake and I didn't have the time to add
it to my long list of responsibilities. Kristin made the process
